On October 31, Tilde awarded the sixth annual Tālis Bērcis Commemorative Prize and Scholarship for a remarkable contribution to promoting computer science education and information society in Latvia. This year the prize was awarded to Oļegs Bojaruns, deputy director for computer science at the Daugavpils Russian Secondary School-Lyceum. Bojaruns was nominated for the prize by his colleagues in Daugavpils, a city in south-eastern Latvia.
End of October, Microsoft launched the new operating system Windows 8.1.

On October 16 and 17, the Global UNESCO Meeting of Experts on Ethical Aspects of Information Society will be held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. One of the initiators and organizers of this event is a representative of the Intergovernmental Council for the UNESCO Information for All Programme (IFAP) from Latvia Mr. Andrejs Vasiļjevs, head of the IFAP Information Ethics Working Group and Latvian software development company Tilde.

In June, UAB „Tilde informacinės technologijos“ was presented the Namejs Gold Ring at the "Nameja balva 2013" awards ceremony for the most innovative Latvian company in Lithuania. The Prime Ministers of United Kingdom, the Scandinavian and Baltic countries will meet in Riga on Thursday, February 28, to discuss the challenges and innovations in the areas of green energy and bridging the digital gap. This will be the third Northern Future Forum. Andrejs Vasiļjevs, Chairman of the Board at Tilde Ltd., will chair the forum’s session on open data, e‑government and the future of languages in the digital world. The Forum centre will display a video clip by Tilde on language technology.
