On February 2, Tilde hosted a meeting of the Executive Committee of the European Association of Machine Translation (EAMT). The meeting was held at Tilde's central offices in Riga.

During the daylong meeting, which also featured an excursion to the University of Latvia, the EAMT executive commitee focused on planning the programme and agenda for its annual conference, EAMT 2016. The event, which usually draws up to 150 participants from across Europe, will be organized and hosted by Tilde, EAMT, and the University of Latvia on May 30-June 1.

The annual EAMT conference showcases the very latest in MT technology, with participants representing companies and institutions already using or being potential users of MT; localization companies using MT in the translation workflow; and renowned MT scientists and researchers.

EAMT conference presentations feature in-depth descriptions of the latest MT tools and technology, enterprise use cases from large corporations and organization using MT, best practices from the global localization industry, the fruits of cutting-edge research from universities and research centers, and the results of EU-funded ICT projects.

The European Association for Machine Translation (EAMT) is an organization that serves the growing community of people interested in MT and translation tools, including users, developers, and researchers of this increasingly viable technology. The EAMT is one of three regional associations of the International Association for Machine Translation (IAMT). Its sister organizations are the Association for Machine Translation in the Americas (AMTA) and the Asia-Pacific Association for Machine Translation (AAMT).
